BATHROOM FAUCET REPAIR
A Dripping Bathroom Faucet That Keeps You Up at Night
Bathroom faucets — whether single-hole, widespread, or centerset — all use similar internal mechanisms that wear over time. The drip that starts small becomes worse every week as the cartridge or seat continues to degrade. In older Northwest Indiana homes, bathroom faucets frequently have hard water scale buildup that makes handles stiff and accelerates cartridge wear.
Single-handle faucets use a cartridge or ceramic disc that controls both temperature and flow. Double-handle faucets have separate hot and cold cartridges. When a cartridge fails, it either causes a drip (won't fully close) or makes the handle hard to operate. O-ring failure causes leaking around the base or under the spout. Worn seat washers in older compression-style faucets allow water past the seat when closed.
Downing Plumbing repairs bathroom faucets of all styles, finishes, and brands. We carry common repair parts and cartridges for Moen, Delta, Kohler, American Standard, Pfister, and other brands — so most bathroom faucet repairs are completed in a single visit without a parts run.
