KITCHEN FAUCET REPAIR
Kitchen Faucets Fail Differently Than Bathroom Faucets
Kitchen faucets take more abuse than any other fixture — constant hot/cold cycling, mineral deposits from hard water, and the repeated stress of pull-down spray heads all take their toll. Northwest Indiana has hard water in most municipalities, and mineral scale buildup inside kitchen faucet cartridges is a leading cause of stiff handles, inconsistent temperature mixing, and reduced flow rate over time.
Common kitchen faucet problems include: a drip from the spout when off (worn cartridge), water leaking around the base of the spout (failed O-rings), a pull-down spray head that won't retract or loses pressure (worn spray head or kink in supply hose), low pressure from a clogged aerator, or a handle that's stiff or loose. Each has a specific repair — and Downing Plumbing carries the most common cartridges and repair kits on the truck for same-day fixes.
We repair all major kitchen faucet brands including Moen, Delta, Kohler, American Standard, Pfister, and others. If a faucet is beyond economical repair, we can install a new fixture the same day.
