TOILET INSTALLATION
Getting the Rough-In Right Before the Toilet Goes In
Toilet installation in a new bathroom or addition starts with the rough-in — the drain location, flange height, and water supply stub-out. Get these wrong and the toilet will never sit or seal correctly. Downing Plumbing handles both the rough-in plumbing phase and the final fixture installation, so everything is done by the same team and done right from the start.
For existing bathrooms where a toilet is being added (common in basement bathroom finishes throughout Northwest Indiana), we install the floor flange at the correct height relative to the finished floor, run the drain to the existing sewer system, and rough in the supply line. When the flooring is done, we come back to set the toilet — clean, leak-free, and code-compliant.
We install all styles of toilets: standard two-piece, one-piece, wall-hung, elongated, comfort height, and pressure-assist models. If you're supplying your own fixture, we'll install it. If you need us to source one, we can recommend a quality unit that fits your bathroom's rough-in dimension.
